HISTORY OF ONE PIECE

ONE PIECE (ワンピース wanpīsu) is an anime and manga about a group of pirates when leading by Monkey D. Luffy, the purpose are going to search legendary treasures named “One Piece”

One Piece is created by Eiichiro Oda. The comic or manga started at 4th August 1997 in Shonen Jump magazine 34th edition, published by Shueisha and until now still continue. It’s TV or anime version started at 20th October 1999, when produced by Toei Animation and show in Fuji TV, already reached 312 episodes in Japan. And otherwise, 9 One Piece movie is already published too. Until 2007, more of 524 stories and 53 manga volumes already publishing.

One Piece success blessing which strong stories, full of fantasy, unique humour atmosphere, all kind of the characters, tight fighting between the strange characters, and the characters are deepen storied. Likely very rare Shonen Jump manga which raise about the pirate story. It’s popularity in Japan already compete Dragon Ball. Some other manga when almost reach success like One Piece are InuYasha and Naruto.

Popularity of One Piece in Weekly Shonen Jump, make Toei Animation side decide made it’s anime serials. It’s anime rating very high and until now already released more of 300 episodes, 9 movies, dan 1 OVA.

Began of One Piece anime actually is an OVA One Piece, that is One Piece: Defeat the Pirate Ganzackt!, published in 1997 and then followed weekly show every episode.
Until 30th March 2008, total of One Piece TV episode that is 349 Episodes. Until episode forward, One Piece showed in high-definition fiture with 1080i resolution. One Piece average showed 4 episodes every month.

In the first, Eiichiro Oda planned One Piece will continue about 5 years, and he’s already decide the ending. But he’s too much "enjoyed" the stories way and now he’s don’t know when One Piece will end.

In February 2005, One Piece booked record in Japan as fastest manga publish which reached 100.000.000 exemplar.One Piece is manga with third highest sale (after Kochikame and Dragon Ball )along Shonen Jump history. This manga too which cause total sale Shonen Jump increase at this last 11 years. Volume handle manga sale record in Japan with 2.630.000 exemplar sold out in first printing. And volume reaching more of 140.000.000 exemplar sold and it’s the fastest manga which reaching total sale 100.000.000 exemplar.

Toei Animation already made 9 movies, and entirely release every spring in Japan since 2000. All movies doing with professional, and with higher graphic level of usually weekly show. that movies have self plot, and so far with actually One Piece groove (non-canon), so that otherwise interested person of One Piece could follow this movies.
